While the game doesn’t have a firm release date just yet, Capcom has been showing off the collection at a variety of events. Not only did the game make an appearance at the Nintendo Mini Direct it was announced at, but more recently at Tokyo Game Show, with Capcom announcing a bunch of new features coming to the collection and highlighting how the games will look remastered. A full seven-minute gameplay video from IGN Japan gives more details of what to expect in Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection.

The video starts with the player being greeted by voiced Mega Man.EXE in a 3D menu, which is a special title select screen where players can choose which game from the collection they wish to play. Brief snippets of gameplay from the first three games are then shown. This menu allows players to adjust their control settings, access a special art gallery, or listen to various songs throughout the history of the series.
The video also highlights the different ways that fans can view the game, with filters that can be turned on/off at any moment to smooth out the game’s rougher edges or give it a more pixelated look for its sprites. This is a feature that is carried over from the Mega Man X Legacy Collection. The size of the game screen can also be adjusted, where depending on the selection, players can fill their screen with the full game or keep it small, with the borders being filled out with a piece of art from Mega Man Battle Network.
The Battle Network Legacy Collection will also have a bunch of new features, such as online multiplayer and chip trading, which will be available to every game included in the collection. This was a widely requested feature since the previous games had relied on the Game Boy Advance’s link cables to connect with each other. Fans can expect more news about this collection to be revealed as 2023 rolls around.
