Since Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection was revealed in June, Capcom has shared plenty of details about the enhancements coming to the RPGs. Every Battle Network game in the compilation was confirmed to feature online support, with players able to battle with one another and trade chips to upgrade their own folders. The collection will also come with several quality-of-life improvements allowing players to smooth out the game’s rougher edges, change the control schemes and more. Now, Capcom has finally shown players when they’ll be able to pick up the Mega Man compilation.

The newest trailer for Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection shows off a variety of the new features coming to the remakes, as well as confirming the release date. Battle Network Legacy Collection is set to launch early next year with Capcom revealing the game’s release date for April 14th, 2023. Players are also able to pre-order the game immediately with pre-orders including the exclusive “Custom PET Pack,” featuring exclusive home-screen skins for Mega Man and re-arranged music in Battle Network’s Music Player.
The new trailer shows off several different game modes from Battle Network Legacy Collection’s online gameplay. Players will be able to duke it out with one another in both private and public matches, with the game confirmed to feature a Ranked mode and online leaderboards. All games in the Battle Network compilation will include the previously mentioned chip trading, showcasing updated high-resolution images of the chips. Certain games will also feature special online functionality, such as Battle Network 2 featuring “Style Trading” for different looks for Mega Man.
The release date confirmation for Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection comes as Capcom’s iconic mascot is celebrating its 35th anniversary this month. The original Mega Man first launched on the NES in 1987 and has seen 11 main-series entries and several spinoffs since its debut. While the franchise has fallen largely dormant in recent years, rumors have picked up surrounding a potential return to the Mega Man franchise with domain names for several Mega Man sequels recently updated.
Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection will release on April 14th, 2023 for PC, PS4, and Switch.
