Transformers: Fall of Cybertron’s marketing campaign has been led by Grimlock ever since its first teaser and full trailer released. He’s taken the spotlight away from Optimus Prime and that’s okay because, in the end, they’re on the same team. Joining the bipedal, flame-spitting Grimlock are the rest of the Dinobots and Activision wants to showcase them as well with these new screenshots.

The majority of the images feature Grimlock breathing fire, Grimlock eating bad guys, Grimlock breathing more fire, Grimlock holding a sword, swinging a sword and impaling somebody with a sword, Grimlock holding a shield, Grimlock holding a bad guy… you get the idea.

Joining the fearless Dinobot leader - and getting a few images of their own finally - are Slug (Triceratops), Snarl (Stegosaurus) and Swoop (Pteranodon) both in their Dino-forms and in their Cybertronian mode. No image of Sludge, the Apatosaurus. Also notice that Slug has been re-named from the original “Slag.”

We’ve already seen a lot of Grimlock, but the others look spectacular as well. Seeing Slug in dino-form with the Autobot logo on his forehead makes me want the action figure of this version of the character, and I can say the same for Snarl with the blades all up his back. It’s like being a kid all over when the original Generation 1 cartoon was airing.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron releases August 28, 2012 on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
