When talking about the upcoming release of Medal of Honor (no sub-subtitle, back to basics), Richard Farrelly, EALA creative director, stated:

“We’re working hard to deliver the exact same experience across all platforms. I think for me the most important thing is for everyone that plays Medal Of Honor is satisfied… I guess the benefit to the PS3 owner is that we’re leading on it, so we’ll maximize what that platform can do for our game.”

Most games in the past have been developed on the Xbox 360 and then ported over to the PS3, normally at no visual difference to the average gamer, which remains a favorite argument in many gaming forums over which console is superior. However recent PS3 releases (Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain) have shown that developing purely for the PS3 can lead to fantastic visuals, and let’s not forget about the whole Final Fantasy XIII debacle.

What does this mean for the new Medal of Honor? I’m not really sure, but I am looking forward to seeing more from the series having enjoyed previous entries. Plus it’s always nice to get away from Call of Duty every now and then.
