The acquisition is reported to have cost Enad Global 7 around $24.1 million, two-thirds in cash and the last third in shares, according to GamesIndustry.biz. Piranha Games also has new profitability targets which could reward as much as $48.6 million in cash and shares if the goals are reached by 2025. In other words, Enad Global 7 is putting a lot of money on the line to encourage Piranha to continue releasing successful projects going forward.

Whatever Piranha is working on remains unclear, however. The studio released MechWarrior 5 in 2019 and plans to release it on other platforms in 2021, including box One and Xbox Series X as well as other PC storefronts. Further DLC for MechWarrior 5 could be in the works, though Piranha may instead be focusing on a sequel or a new project entirely.

Enad Global 7 was formed in early 2020 by Toadman Interactive (now called Toadman Studios) as a group holding all of the company’s subsidiaries. These included Toadman Studios, Antimatter Games, Petrol Advertising, and Sold Out Publishing. Since then, Enad Global 7 has also acquired Big Blue Bubble in addition to Piranha Games, both of which are based in Canada. At this rate, Enad Global 7 may become a much more widely-recognized name in the gaming industry in a relatively short time. Pirahna Games may just be the beginning.
