There’s been a call on social media for the McDonald’s Halloween buckets to make a comeback. McDonald’s itself has been leaving heavily into nostalgia recently, like with the announcement that it will be selling adult Happy Meals with toys based on the restaurant’s old mascots. This latest move is yet another attempt by McDonald’s to appeal to nostalgic adults who may remember the original Halloween pails from when they were kids.

The McDonald’s Halloween buckets are coming back on Tuesday, October 18. It’s unclear exactly how long McDonald’s will be selling the buckets with Happy Meals, but they will be available while supplies last. Anyone that wants to secure one of these McDonald’s Halloween buckets should be sure to visit McDonald’s on October 18, as these are the kinds of items that tend to sell out fast and wind up on eBay for absurd prices.

When Are McDonald’s Halloween Buckets Coming Back?

Tuesday, October 18

McDonald’s will have three Halloween buckets available for customers when the promotion starts on October 18. They are near-identical to the Halloween buckets from the 1980s, with customers having a Jack-o-lantern pumpkin, a witch, and a ghost to choose from. It looks like there may be multiple versions of each bucket, though, as GIF posted by McDonald’s on Twitter shows each of the buckets making different faces.

The McDonald’s Halloween buckets are sure to be a hit with customers, though it remains to be seen if they will take off quite as well as the restaurant’s Pokemon trading cards. For the past couple of years, McDonald’s has given away Pokemon cards with its Happy Meals to much success, drawing the attention of not only kids but adults who collect Pokemon cards and want to get them all of their collections.

McDonald’s will continue video game-related promotions moving forward, with plans to release Happy Meal toys to coincide with the Super Mario Bros. movie. In fact, a leak of that upcoming McDonald’s promotion actually revealed what Princess Peach will look like in the Super Mario Bros. movie, which was a big deal for fans as she was nowhere to be seen in the trailer.
